Don’t Play Politics With Women’s Health

As the debate continues on health care reform, some members of the Senate Finance Committee are asking their colleagues to eliminate coverage for comprehensive reproductive health care – such as abortion – from the legislative package. If they succeed, this health care coverage will disappear not only for women using the “public health option” (if there is one) but also for the millions of women who already receive this coverage under their current insurance.

Health care reform is supposed to create more opportunities for safe, reliable care – not less. Please join the National Partnership for Women and Families (as well as many other organizations opposing this language) by telling your legislators that comprehensive reproductive coverage is essential under any health care bill.
