Including Workforce Education and Training in the Jobs Bill

(from our friends at National Skills Coalition)

After the defeat of the Murray-Kerry amendment to the jobs bill, which would have included $1.3 billion for summer youth programs and extended the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Emergency Fund, Members of Congress need to be reminded that workforce development is a priority for their constituents.

As the bill moved back to the House, there is another opportunity to have workforce training funding included. If you feel this funding is important, please weigh in today with your Representative.
